In conjunction with the Sabah Welfare Month events, the Sabah Society For The Blind organised a World Sight Day event at Taman Cahaya on 14th October 2018 with collaboration from the Eye Care and Health Care Units of Duchess of Kent Hospital and Health Clinic of Rancangan Sungai Manila. The main objective of the event was held to bring awareness to the public on the importance of eye care, eye sight treatment and the avenue for treatment. The function was officiated by the Sabah Minister of Youth & Sports Datuk Frankie Poon who was represented by Mr Max Million Lee. More than 150 persons attended the event from the general public as well as the inmates of visually impaired Taman Cahaya. Free blood , blood pressure and eye sight checking services were made available during the event.
