The Sabah Society For The Blind – Sandakan Branch have on 24th November 2014 launched its annual Sabah state wide postal appeal for public donations to raise training funds for its Taman Cahaya Training Centre For The Blind at Rancangan Sungai Manila, Sandakan. The training centre need about RM230,000.00 per year to continue providing training and rehabilitation services to the visually impaired persons in Sabah and is now receiving an annual grant of RM25,000.00 from the Sabah Council of Social Service.
The Board Management and staff would like to thank all supporters and donors who have in one way or another given their kind supports in the past and hereby sincerely appeal to the general public for their continued kind financial assistances and generosity to allow the Branch to give something more meaningful and helpful to the less fortunate visually impaired persons in our community.
If you have received our postal appeal letters, please spare a kind thought for the destitute blinds and their despair in their wretched dark confinement of life. It is a tragedy without sight or proper sight and there are many things which the sighted persons can simply do or enjoy (like reading this colorful website or enjoying the visual beauty around us) that the visually handicapped persons cannot do or enjoy. Our training centre is giving hopes to these visually impaired persons in our community by way of training/rehabilitation and other assistances.
Please give generously if you receive our postal appeal letters. Donations can be remitted to us by mail or remitted to our Hong Leong Bank Berhad’s Account No. 11800031364 in the name of “SABAH SOCIETY FOR THE BLIND”. For those who have not received our appeal letters, please do come forward and contact us if you wish to extend a helping hand.
We assure you that every cent donated to us shall be solely utilised for good and benefit of the needy visually impaired members of our community.
